Slash Command Search

Use /syntrimeet search commands directly in Slack to find information from any past meeting. Ask questions like 'What did we decide about the pricing model?' and get answers with source references.

SyntriMeet and Slack: Meeting Intelligence Where Your Team Already Works

Slack is where work happens between meetings. SyntriMeet's Slack integration ensures that the insights, decisions, and action items from your meetings flow seamlessly into the channels where your team collaborates. No context switching, no forgotten follow-ups, no meetings lost to the void.

Why Slack + SyntriMeet?

The gap between meetings and action is where productivity dies. Someone takes notes, maybe shares them, maybe does not. Action items are mentioned but not tracked. Decisions are made but not documented in a searchable way. SyntriMeet bridges this gap by automatically delivering structured meeting intelligence to Slack.

Every meeting you record with SyntriMeet -- whether on Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams -- can automatically post its summary to a Slack channel. Your team gets notified about their action items. And anyone can search across your entire meeting history directly from Slack.

Automatic Meeting Summaries

After a meeting ends, SyntriMeet processes the recording and posts a formatted summary to your configured Slack channel. The summary includes:

  • Meeting Title and Attendees -- Who was in the meeting and when it happened
  • Key Discussion Points -- The main topics covered, organized by theme
  • Decisions Made -- Clear documentation of what was agreed upon
  • Action Items -- Each item with its assignee, deadline, and priority
  • Link to Full Transcript -- One click to review the complete conversation

The summary is posted as a rich Slack message with interactive buttons. Team members can click to view the full transcript, listen to the recording, or open the meeting in the SyntriMeet dashboard. Discussions happen in threads on the summary post, keeping conversations organized.

Channel-Based Meeting Routing

Not every meeting summary belongs in every channel. SyntriMeet lets you configure intelligent routing rules:

  • Engineering stand-ups post to #engineering-standup
  • Client calls post to #client-updates or client-specific channels
  • All-hands meetings post to #company-wide
  • One-on-ones stay private or post to a management channel
  • Sales calls post to #sales-pipeline with CRM data attached

Rules can be based on meeting organizer, calendar, title keywords, attendee list, or meeting duration. You can also set up fallback channels for meetings that do not match any specific rule.

Action Item Notifications

When SyntriMeet detects an action item assigned to someone on your team, it delivers a notification:

  • Direct Message to the assignee with the action item details, deadline, and a link to the moment in the meeting where it was discussed
  • Channel Post (optional) so the team has visibility into who owns what
  • Reminder Follow-ups as the deadline approaches

Action items are mapped to Slack users automatically based on name matching. You can also manually map participants to Slack user IDs for organizations where names might not match exactly.

Meeting Search from Slack

The SyntriMeet slash command brings meeting intelligence directly into Slack:

/syntrimeet search what was the decision on the Q4 budget

SyntriMeet searches your entire meeting knowledge base -- spanning Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, and Slack Huddles -- and returns relevant results directly in Slack. Results include the meeting title, date, relevant transcript excerpt, and a link to review the full context.

This is powered by the same cross-meeting knowledge base that drives SyntriMeet's real-time AI companion. The more meetings you record, the more powerful the search becomes.

Slack Huddle Recording

Slack Huddles are lightweight audio conversations that happen directly in Slack channels. SyntriMeet can capture Huddles via the desktop app's botless recording mode, transcribe them, and add them to your meeting knowledge base. This means quick audio discussions are not lost -- they become searchable, summarized, and connected to your broader meeting history.

Multi-Platform Meeting Intelligence

SyntriMeet is not limited to a single meeting platform. Your Slack integration receives summaries from meetings recorded on:

  • Zoom -- Bot and botless recordings
  • Google Meet -- Bot and botless recordings
  • Microsoft Teams -- Bot and botless recordings
  • Slack Huddles -- Botless recordings via desktop app

All platforms feed into the same knowledge base, and all summaries can be routed to Slack channels using the same rules. This unified approach means your team has a single, consistent view of meeting intelligence regardless of which platform hosted the conversation.

Best Practices for Slack + SyntriMeet

  1. Create dedicated channels for meeting summaries (e.g., #meeting-notes, #sales-meetings) to keep summaries organized.
  2. Configure channel routing rules so the right summaries reach the right people without noise.
  3. Enable action item DMs so assignees never miss a commitment.
  4. Use the slash command to search meeting history before starting new discussions -- the answer might already exist.
  5. Encourage thread discussions on summary posts to keep meeting follow-ups contextual and searchable.
  6. Set up Huddle recording for teams that frequently use Slack audio conversations.

Privacy and Security

The SyntriMeet Slack app requests only the permissions necessary to post messages and respond to slash commands. It does not read your Slack messages or access channels beyond those you configure. All data transmitted between SyntriMeet and Slack is encrypted with TLS, and meeting content is stored with AES-256 encryption at rest.
